Club Drive - Review 3

You have got to be kidding me, what’s this crap??? That about sums up my initial reaction when I first popped this game in my Jaguar and powered it up. I am glad I am forgiving of graphics in a game, if I like an idea presentation doesn’t cut me off. I picked this game up from one of the toy stores for three bucks so I had nothing to loose.

Club Drive takes place in 2098, Club drive is a hot vacation spot for people because real driving is illegal and deemed unsafe to the public. More or less this game has a theme park tone. The game has three different modes of play, which save the game from total disaster (Collect, Tag, Race).

Them Race Modes: Collect: Not sure what is with collecting pods on the jaguar but this stage has you racing to pickup the pods as quick as possible to get that high score beaten.

Tag: Tag with cars and the guy or gal who can remain not it for the longest wins.

Race: A point A to point B style race, which has a new flair because club drives tracks are open. Drive where you wish, just make sure you make it to the finish line.

Off to the race track: The race parks or tracks are different themes; there are four track areas you can race in.

Velocity Park: A skateboard park for cars with ramps and obstacles you can pull stuns on. Loops, 360’s you name it.

San Francisco: This is a very large city with tons of streets and hills and buildings to get you lost in not to mention parking garage. I have a lot of fun on this board the bad part is that tag and collect games on this board is only in the garage area.

The Old West: The old west board is nice and open, perfect for doing pod collection or playing car tag. You may even find the Atari building.

Jerome’s Pad: Now this board is fun, You’re a toy car in a big house, cruise under the couch, up the table, into the toilet there is even a TV with pong going on it!! How about that?

How much fun?: I was silly to judge this game on just the graphics alone, I do not play the game often but when I do it’s a lot of fun.

Okay, you know the bad part: The 3-D graphics and frame rate are pretty bad, infact I don’t think there is another game on the system that has graphics this bad. The control will take some getting used to as well but it’s not as bad as you think. Don’t discard the game because of the poor graphics, it’s pretty fun.

Scores:

Graphics: 2 This game can and will get ugly at times.

Fun Factor: 10 With the play modes and theme modes this game are a total blast.

Sound: 7 It has music, and a bit of voice ALLL-Right.

Final thoughts: The good the bad and the ugly all in one nice little cart. If you can find this game for 8 bucks or less and your not eye candy spoiled this game could be fun for you.
