Space Ace (CD)
GAME DESCRIPTION: Don Bluth's Space Ace is a Full Motion Video cartoon, in which you play the part of
Dexter or Ace, depending on whether you're energized or not. In the first scene of the game, Kimberly is kidnapped
by the evil Borf, and Dexter must avoid getting shot by him. The point of the game is to rescue Kimberly from Borf,
and destroy the infanto ray (the weapon that Borf uses to turn Ace into Dexter). For more information on playing
Epicenter Interactive games, see my game description of Dragon's Lair.
GRAPHICS: The graphics in Space Ace are excellent, even better than those in Dragon's Lair. The video
sequences run smoothly and quickly (sometimes too quickly). Rating: 9.5
SOUND: The music in Space Ace is fitting background music for the game. There are a lot more voices
and sound effects than in Dragon's Lair, and the voices are much clearer. The only problem with the sound is that
it gets very annoying when you have to repeat scenes. Rating: 7.5
GAMEPLAY: The gameplay is just as tedious as Dragon's Lair, except that Space Ace is harder! The graphics
make up for a little bit of it, and the video sequences are much more pleasant to watch than in Dragon's Lair. Rating: 5.0
OVERALL: See overall section for Dragon's Lair. Overall Rating: 7.5
