Supercross 3D received very poor reviews throughout the industry, so I received this game with fairly low expectations, and happily it exceeded them. As the game opens, you are greeted with a wealth of options. You can choose to play in either a tournament, a practice or a race and you have 14 tracks to choose from (unless you are in a tourny, in that case you have to follow their order). Also you can customize your bike prior to the race to the conditions that meet what the course will provide. Other features worth mentioning are the instant replays, multiple skill levels and ofcourse the all important save feature which is needed for the lengthy tournaments.

As you begin the race (don't press the acceleration button before the countdown is over or you will suffer a penalty like I do each time) you are greeted with some very impressive graphics, and as you accelerate the graphics are a little choopy as is the scaling but that is the only real minus, impressive overall. The gameplay itself is responsive, though it would be nice if the bike had a little more speed, but it is not terribly slow. Otherwise the play is pretty respectable, though at times there is a touch of slowdown on huge jumps or in areas where there are a ton of bikers (usually that combo is needed for that to occur). The sounds are respectable also, the bikes sounds are pretty good and the tunes are OK, though not great.

The tournys are fairly extensive which will keep you coming back for a while, as you basically have two rounds of qualifying before you race in the race worth points. Overall I have to say I am enjoying this game quite a bit. I always like racing games which helps the situation, and while this game certainly has flaws and ones that have to be recognized, it still provides for a fun racer in a genre that is left abandoned on many systems (motorbike racing). If you enjoy racers this may be worth a look, I am enjoying it, and while a little more work could have made this game awesome, still in my humble opinion this game holds its own and is worthy of racing game fans time.
