DOOM - Review 2

Heads UP: Chances are you have played doom a hundred times on a hundred different systems. Doom is one of those ports to all games (Jaguar, NES, 32X, Saturn, PSX, N64, 3DO, PC, ECT.) Comparing these games between other systems isn’t to fare to the each respective system. The jaguar doom is fun, fast and easy to get into.

Blasting the night away: I always find it hard to put this game down; while the 1st person shooters have certainly evolved since doom it still has an addictive appeal. The Jaguar version of doom is a little short with no cyberdemon or our favorite spider (limited cart space?? Na.)

Graphics and such: The graphics in the Jaguar are very rich with tons of color but a bit of resolution loss. This resolution loss is fine with me because the game if very fast paced. Sometimes the game will slow a bit in a wide-open area otherwise its pedal to the medal.

Why you should own 2 jaguars: If you own to jaguars order 2 copies of this game and a link cable because you’re in for an extra treat. Match up and work together or frag each other’s brains out in deathmatch. If you are one of the lucky ones who has a catbox you may network a group of jags (they need catboxes to)

I can’t hear anything: Let it be said that 1st person shooters on the jaguar are void of music, Doom is no exception but I can’t say I miss those little midi tunes.

Scores:

Graphics: 9.5 Almost as good as it gets on the jaguar very fast game.

Fun Factor: 10 Jaglink anyone?

Sound: 6 No music puts the score down, but you don’t care about music, you have jaglink.

Final thoughts: It’s been done to death played to death and put to death, you should own at least 1 copy of this game in your house a must have game for fellow jaggers.
