Preview - NATIVE

NATIVE is a side-scrolling shooter in the vein of R-Type and Pulstar which was at one time being developed by Duranik software. However, it was eventually canned in late '97 due to being unable to find a publisher for the title. Only a level had been complete, as can be played in a Jagserver/JUGS demo available for download. Other stages had been slightly worked on, with some mockup screens available (As seen below). The game was to have sharp graphics, run at 60 frames a second, include several layers of parallax scrolling, and have a firing and powerup system unique to this style of game. It's a shame this game was never released, as it came as a major disappointment to all of you R-Type and Pulstar heads out there (including myself)--It really looked to be quite the game unlike any other on the Jag. However, though it is unlikely due to the amount of game required to finish, there's a slight possibility Songbird Productions may pickup work on the title and allow it to see the light of day on a genuine cart or CD.
